Yes I know in southern Ontario we have it good compared to most of the rest of Canada. But it's still pretty miserable. If Florida or the Caribbean or Arizona are starting to seem boring why not try a trip to the Costa del Sol in Spain... Costa Del Sol – A Great Place To Visit In Spain - by Rick Martin Spain is a country with a long and interesting history. As a mixture of past cultures, the present shows a country with fascinating traditions. It is also important to know that no matter what the ordinary tourist is looking for, he can find it all in this country: beautiful beaches with great weather all year round, mountains perfect for skiing, great sightseeing cities with a lot of culture. Because of all these, there is a number of about 60 million tourists every year and it is constantly growing. So, a concern for all these people coming to visit is the availability of rooms in hotels in Costa del Sol. The Spanish tourism flourishes every year because it is one of the most affordable and easy to reach destinations in Europe offering a variety of choices regarding accommodations, travelling means and entertainment. The hotels in Costa del Sol are always full of tourists, due to the fact that the region has great potential. There is something interesting to do for everyone... Brazil Tours - Brazil Eco Vip organizes trips across Brazil to the most popular and exotic places of the country. by Dr. Ron McCluskey - Early on in our Mexico experience, we still had not learned much Spanish. Golf at Highlands Links, Cape Breton Sept 4, 06 - The Weekend Golfer - >>>> Golf Swing Tips - Join the 1% of Golfers who swing like a Pro - When I found out I knocked 30 shots off my average round of Golf! >>>> This summer (July 06) we headed down to PEI and Cape Breton to play some of the highly rated courses in that neck of the woods. Our trip included rounds at Rustico Resort, The Links at Crowbush Cove, and Dundarave in PEI, and then over in Cape Breton we played Highlands Links and Bell Bay. The highlight was undoubtedly Highlands Links, an older course originally designed and built by Stanley Thompson in the late 1930s. Highlands Links is in a small town called Ingonish Beach, up on the northwest coast of Cape Breton. We were staying in Baddeck in the central part of the island at the Inverary Resort, and the trip to the golf course was a good hour and a half. Ingonish just happens to be on the famous Cabot Trail, so we took the long way around to catch the scenery -- a trip well worth taking. Popular Museums and Attractions in Winnipeg The Manitoba Museum - This museum in the heart of downtown Winnipeg gives visitors a close look at the lives of the Plains Indians and early prairie settlers. The Manitoba Museum has nine galleries including a planetarium, science gallery, and even a five-story sailing ship, the Nonsuch. Exciting Community: Brampton Ontario Feb 27, 2007 - Travel News >> Brampton Ontario: A Fast Growing Community - bt Rob Parker Choosing the right community in which to settle and raise your family is a daunting task. There are just so many different things to consider. Employment opportunities, the quality of the educational system, transportation… All of these things need to be considered before investing in a community through a real estate purchase. You might also want to consider how an investment in real estate is likely to fare over the course of time. Is it likely that your home will appreciate, depreciate, or retain its value over the short and long term? A community that many people have been investing in is that of Brampton, Ontario. This community has seen an amazing 20 percent hike in population over the course of a year and this trend doesn’t show any sign of stopping soon. The population hike is primarily attributed to a surge in immigration of South Asians. Immigration has contributed to the diverse population of Brampton. In fact, more than 40 percent of residents belong to a visible minority group. This increase in population has led to an increase in the housing market of Brampton as well... Not Too Early to Think About Spring Golf Vacation Feb 11, 2007 - Linknet Travel >>> Now that we're into the last half of winter it's not too early to start planning your next golf vacation in Ontario. And the most popular destination for vacation golf in Ontario is in the Muskoka region, just about two hours north of Toronto. In the last ten years a number of highly rated championship and resort courses have been opened in this area, taking full advantage of the unique landscape. One group of courses worth trying is the Clublink threesome: Lake Joseph, Rocky Crest and Grandview. All three are unique, challenging, and memorable. Just outside of Port Carling on beautiful Lake Joseph, the Lake Joseph Club was one of the first courses in the area to cater specifically to cottagers and resort visitors. It was soon followed by Rocky Crest a few miles away near MacTier and Grandview about an hour's drive away in Huntsville. Grandview was designed by PGA tour pro Mark O'Meara. Huntsville is also the site of the famous Deerhurst Lodge where Shania Twain got her start in show business. But Deerhurst is even more famous for its outstanding resort and golf courses. Deerhurst Highlands and Deerhurst Lakeside are both 18 hole courses carved out of an 800 acre wilderness. Deerhurst anchors what is known as the "Muskoka Golf Trail" which features two other outstanding courses -- The Rock and The Ridge at Manitou. The Rock was designed by Nick Faldo on the western shores of Lake Rosseau and opened in 2004. The Ridge at Manitou is a Thomas McBroom course and was named "Best New Course in Ontario" by two golf magazines. Two other outstanding courses are Taboo in Gravenhurst and Bigwin Island at Lake of Bays. Taboo was chosen by The Toronto Star as Ontario's #1 Golf Course and it has the endorsement of 2003 Master's winner Mike Weir. And Bigwin Island is built near the site of the historic Bigwin Inn, once billed as North America's largest and most luxurious summer resort. These courses, and many more, have made the Muskoka region of Ontario a "must visit" for the golfer looking for challenging, beautiful, and superbly designed and maintained golf courses. There is considerable concern in the U.S, Canada, and other countries in the Western Hemisphere that the requirement that all travelers -- including U.S. travelers -- have a passport to enter the U.S. will hurt cross-border business. The earlier date (Dec. 31/2006) set for air and boat travelers will cause serious complications, sceptics argue. Many air travelers already have passports, but cruise ships have not required them in the past. Many cruises are already booked for early 2007 and there is concern some of these travelers will end up without acceptable identification documents. Cruise destinations such as Alaska may be the hardest hit by these new regulations. Meanwhile, the Canadian government recently accepted the U.S. moves as inevitable. Instead of lobbying to change or delay the measures, Canadian authorities are working towards a smooth implementation that will have the least detrimental impact on the massive amount of movement back and forth across the U.S. - Canada border. As compared to U.S. travelers, a larger percentage of Canadian travelers already have passports. So while there is serious concern that Canadian travelers will be disadvantaged, the greater concern is that U.S. travelers will be less likely to travel to Canada if a passport is required to re-enter the U.S. It is also feared there will also be less casual traveling back and forth across the border unless an inexpensive, easily implemented system of identification is found. The bad news is that these numbers are still the lowest in 25 years. Same-day car travel from the U.S. had been falling since April 06, but increased in November by 1.5% (1.1 million trips.) Overnight trips from the U.S. were down marginally. But overall travel from the U.S. was up to 2.3 million trips -- an increase of 0.6% over October. Travel from overseas visitors was up 2.1% to 379,000 trips. Most of the increase came from South Korean and Indian visitors. Meanwhile, Canadians are travelling out of the country at record rates. Trips to the U.S. were at the highest level since Jan. 2001, and trips in November to overseas destinations increased by 1.3% over October. |
