Event Marketing Follow Up Strategy

Trade Show Marketing No Comments

I was just checking out Linkedin Answers and found an interesting entry by Seth Berkowitz, Creative Director at Blink.com

To the question “What are the Best Event Marketing Follow-ups?” Seth’s suggestion is that the traditional goodie bag not be handed out at the event, but rather after the event as part of the follow-up. In his words…

“Why not eschew the goodie-bag at the event and combine it with the follow up? Imagine this… you attend a party given by a vendor, or somebody who wants your business. It’s in a beautiful space, with good food and drink, interesting people and a gracious host who doesn’t bring up business the whole night.

The following morning, you arrive at your office and an email awaits you, thanking you for coming and inviting you to claim your gift. The link also offers photos to view of the previous night’s party. Claiming your gift is easy. You just have to check something off, or enter a mailing address and two days later, the gift arrives.

Two days after that, you get a phone call from the person who invited you to the party. She just wants to make sure the gift arrived undamaged…”

Sound like a pretty good idea.
